Michael Horn
Co-founder and Executive Director, Education of Innosight Institute, a not-for-profit think tank devoted to applying the theories of disruptive innovation to problems in the social sector. He is the co-author of Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns with Harvard Business School Professor and bestselling author Clayton M. Christensen. Michael is the publisher of notable policy papers on digital learning including The rise of K-12 blended learning.
Tom Vander Ark
Education advocate, advisor, and author of Getting Smart: How Personal Digital Learning is Changing the World. Tom is Founder and Executive Editor of Getting Smart, a partner in Learn Capital, and CEO of Open Education Solutions. Tom served as Executive Director of Education for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He is a former public school superintendent and chairs the International Association for K-12 Online Learning.
John Bailey
Executive Director of Digital Learning Now, an organization advancing policies for high quality digital learning. Prior to joining DLN, John served as Director of Whiteboard Advisors. His extensive professional experience includes serving as a top technology and telecommunications advisor to the Secretary of Commerce, working at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, acting as the nation’s second Director of Educational Technology and serving as Pennsylvania’s first Director of Educational Technology.
Matthew Peterson, Ph. D.
Co-founder, Chief Technical Officer and Senior Scientist at the MIND Research Institute, a non-profit education and research organization. Matthew is a thought leader in applying neuroscience and motivational research to the development of visual game-based learning environments. He is an expert in the neural basis of processing information and the acquisition of mathematical reasoning abilities.Together with renowned scientists Dr. Mark Bodner and the late Dr. Gordon Shaw, he founded the MIND Research Institute in 1998 to apply academic research on the brain to educational programs for elementary school students.
